The world of healthcare is a fast-moving one, with constant updates and technological advances. As an important part of your overall healthcare team, we pride ourselves in making sure we keep up with the latest new developments in dental care technology. Keeping our office well supplied with state-of-the-art equipment allows us to care for your oral health with the most efficient, effective treatments available today.
To help you better understand the equipment used in our office, we’re going to spend some time talking about the advanced technology we choose every day, and more importantly, why it matters to you.
CEREC Chairside Solutions
One of the greatest changes in dental restoration in recent years is the developments in the computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) of dental prostheses like crowns, onlays, inlays and veneers. CAD/CAM technologies aren’t exactly new, but recent developments in this field might as well be new inventions – we’re light-years ahead of where we were just a few years ago.
Without a doubt, one of the biggest advances in digital dentistry is in the form of Chairside Solutions from CEREC. It is the most widely-used CAD/CAM system in the world, specifically because of the fast, fantastic results it provides. We chose CEREC because of the convenience it allows us to offer our patients.
Tooth Restoration in a Single Visit
We could go on and on about the sophisticated technology of CEREC, the milling tools used to craft your new replacement tooth, and why we find it all so exciting. But we understand you’ve got places to go and people to see. You’re busy, and that’s why you should be pleased to learn that using CEREC allows us to perform your tooth restoration in a single visit.
That’s right! There isn’t a return visit to our office to place your new crown, veneer, inlay or onlay 2-3 weeks after it has been made in a lab. Also, there’s no temporary crown to fall off on the weekend!! Instead of taking more time off work or finding a babysitter for another appointment, you’ll wait in our office for about 20 minutes while we make your dental prosthesis, and then walk out with a brand new smile.
Wondering what else a state-of-the-art dental office can offer? Be sure to stay tuned to our blog and ask us all about our services… at your next appointment!
